10 Things I Wish I knew When I started Coaching
Itโs Not about you
Take nothing personal
Trust Yourself
Just love them
There is no right way
Assume the best and you will get it
The leader is decided by the team not you
Relationships are more important than what you know
You are never done learning
It is just Volleyball

Drill of the Week: Neville's Pepper
Nevโs Pepper Graphic
What is this for: The focus of this drill is typically defense and having high effort levels.
Description: Split athletes up into groups, teams of 3-4 work well. Each group will go on the โscoringโ side (Pink) for a set amount of time or number of balls. We suggest 3 min or 10-15 balls. The scoring side will be the only group earning points in each round, attempting to get as high a score as possible. Coaches can enter the ball to the Yellow side, or even have the athletes serve. You can always change the scoring, however the recommendation is to make the scoring as follows. The non-scoring side will wave through on their side, exchanging each time the rally concludes.
+1 for a dig
- All points for no effort
+1 for a rally win
You can add your own points if you want too!
